Joshua 6: 1-20 “Now the gates of Jericho were securely barred because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, “See, I have delivered Jericho into your hands, along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!” The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the army, “Shout! For the Lord has given you the city! When the trumpets sounded, the army shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet, when the men gave a loud shout, the wall collapsed; so everyone charged straight in, and they took the city.
Your time to SHOUT is coming up. 6 days to march around your problem in silence and and the 7th day do it 7 times instead of 1. Then at the right prompt from the Holy Spirit you are to SHOUT for the Lord has won the battle on your behalf. There’s a time to keep silence and a time to speak. That’s because God needs space to work on your behalf. Imagine the magnitude of the work he was doing on this fortified city for Israel. Imagine how excited God was while they were marching each day knowing that the 7th day and the 7th March was approaching and the victory would be won?! Be expectant this morning your time is coming up…your number is about to be called …..your season of breakthrough is approaching.
I wonder if the people really understood what they were doing but then again they had gotten use to walking in the desert fo 40 years, what is it to now walk around a city.
The magical thing about the walk around the city was that it was a walk of faith. The reality was the city was fortified, big walls, big iron gate, huge armed guards on the inside what was Israel trying by simply walking.
The truth is God uses the foolish things of this world to conform the wise. This battle was for the Lord. It was for God’s glory. God has to remove self from the forefront sometimes and act because he knows our limitations.
Today I encourage you to not be discouraged at the length of time your breakthrough is taking. In God’s time and at the right time he will give that command like Joshua to “SHOUT”. Save your energy for now you are going to need it later on.
Hold your peace, your season is coming.
